What is PRP?

What are the steps involved in PRP injections for hairloss and thinning?
- Step 1: The Blood Draw. First up, we’ll roll up your sleeve and draw a small amount of your own blood. Through our blood draw process, your blood is about to become liquid gold!
- Step 2: The Magic Spin. Next, your blood is placed in a high-speed centrifuge. The centrifuge spins the blood super fast to separate the platelet-rich plasma (aka PRP), which is loaded with growth factors. These growth factors stimulate your hair follicles to encourage growth and thickening.
- Step 3: A Little Prep. Before applying the PRP to the scalp, we prep the scalp by cleaning the targeted spots prior to injecting.
- Step 4: The PRP Application. Using a tiny needle, the PRP derived from your own blood is carefully injected into your scalp. It is quick and precise, focusing on the areas that need extra help growing strong, healthy hair. And just like that, the healing and rejuvenation process begins!

Board-certified and with years of practice in Texas, Dr. Stalling, MD, PhD, FAAD now serves the Houston community, offering expert and trustworthy dermatological care.
Meet Dr. Velasquez, MD
Dermatologist Rosannah Velasquez, MD, is known for her expertise and compassionate care. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas-Pan American and earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine on a full academic scholarship as part of the UTPA/BCM Premedical Honors College. This was followed by an internship at the University of Vermont Medical Center. With training in internal medicine and anesthesiology, Dr. Velasquez found her true calling in dermatology, completing her residency at Thomas Jefferson University. Fluent in Spanish, she is dedicated to providing personalized skincare to her community, combining general and surgical dermatology.
